A group of open-minded people from Jaffna gathered a meeting through Zoom every Saturday at 2 PM (IST) to discuss e-learning for Tamil medium students in Sri Lanka. Lots of members from Charity and Non-profit organization members are giving their support on this discussion.
They have taken 2 main action items on improving e-learning during the past meetings
- Creating an online portal that contains all the list of resources for students in Tamil.
- Conducting a workshop for teachers on how they can improve their teaching ability using Technology devices.
https://tamilkalvi.online/ is an online portal created to list out all the available resources for students and teachers to get to know. Interestingly this site has got a huge interest among students and teachers.
Currently, the workshop is happening. Til now 2 workshops about how to handle technology devices and how to use google classroom effectively were held among teachers.190 teachers were registered for the workshop and out of that 120 teachers participated.
Still, these open-minded people are having these meetings on how they can improve and support their society by educating future leaders of the Earth. If you are too interested to join this to have your contribution please contact Mr.Sarveswaran (Lecturer University of Jaffna) - iamsarves@gmail.com who is the coordinator of this wonderful future building movement.
Since this meeting doesn't belong to any organization or having any committee/board I just gave the contact person details only. But, thanks to all those who are contributing their time and money on building this society a rigid one.
