Sobers was born on the 28th of July, 1936 in bridge town. He was considered as the best all rounder in the field of cricket. Sobers was conferred with "Sir" title by Queen Elizabeth in 1975 for his invaluable and immeasurable services he rendered to cricket. An outstanding awarding ceremony was also held to honor the internationally renowned cricket player. Sobers used his left hand in bowling and batting.
At first he began as a bowler. In 1965 the west indies team won the Australian team by 179 runs in the first innings itself. Immediately , Sobers was appointed as the captain of the West Indies team won the Australian team.
Sobers slowed his talents at the age of 16. When he was 17 years old, he took part in test matches and established a record. He set up this record in the fifth test match played against England in 1954. This match was held in Sabina Park in Jamaica. At that time Sobers was only 18 years old. At the age of 20 he scored 365 runs in a test match played against Pakistan and established a distinguished record.
The name and fame of Sir Sobers will never fade and will shine forever.
